| Why Symbiosis ~ When the two principals, Lesley Adams and Mick Boddy, set up the practice in 2000 and were thinking of a name for the new business Symbiosis sprang to mind. The definition 'a mutually advantageous association or relationship between persons' epitomises the relationship we strive to develop with our clients and seemed particularly appropriate as trees rely on a symbiotic relationship, with mycorrhizal fungi, for their very survival. Mycorrhizae, illustrated in the adjacent photograph, are non-woody structures composed of both root and fungal tissues that greatly expand the absorptive area of a tree's root system, facilitating the absorption of essential elements. |

| Who ~ Both principals are fellow members and registered consultants of the Arboricultural Association, and also professional members of the Institute of Chartered Foresters. Jointly, they have over forty five years experience within the arboricultural and forestry industries, encompassing periods of employment within the state, private, local authority and education sectors. The practice provides a dedicated consultancy service to a broad range of clients through the personal involvement of the two principals and is administered by Helen Boddy, who also deals with seminar organisation and the preparation of CAD drawings. |
